What is Pixelblob?
Pixelblob is a tiny screen on a keychain with a little creature living in it. Blob has his own mood, needs and age. How you look after him decides how long he lives.
Talk to him
Blob understands English while his screen is on. He knows over 60 phrases, and a few secret ones.
"hello blob" · "love you"
Feed him and play
Under the heart you see if he is hungry or thirsty. Give him a snack, a drink or a game of ball. Forget him for days and he gets sick.
"have a cupcake" · "wanna play"
Watch him grow up
Every Blob hatches from an egg and grows from baby to grown-up, and no two look the same. Keep yours alive long enough and it joins the world ranking.

For parents
Pixelblob is a small device, not an app. Here is what it does and does not do.
- Speech recognition runs on the device itself, offline. Blob only listens while his screen is on.
- Settings are made in a small web page served by the keychain over its own Wi-Fi hotspot. No account, no app store.
- No camera, no ads, no in-app purchases.
- A Blob can get sick and die when forgotten for days. It is gentle: he floats away as a little ghost and a new egg appears.
- A Blob is only on the world ranking if "Join the world ranking" was switched on in the keychain's settings when it hatched (off by default). The keychain then sends the Blob's name, color, ID and hatch time, signed so nobody can fake it. The website shows the name, age, picture and country. The country comes from the internet connection; only the country code is kept, never the address. No names of people, no e-mail, no location.
